3. Fire Up a BBQ at Endeavour Park
Endeavour Park, right on the 1770 foreshore next to the carvan park, is the perfect spot for a lazy lunch with a view.
There are free electric barbecues and fantastic undercover areas with a playground for the kids and safe paths to ride their scooters. It’s perfect for birthday parties that you don’t want to host at your accommodation!
There is also an accessible public toilet within 50 meters.
4. Take a Dip at Agnes Water Main Beach
Queensland’s most northern surf beach has it all soft sand, gentle waves and Surf Life Saving patrols!
Whether you’re swimming, surfing or just lazing in the sun, this beach is perfect for families and first-timers.
If you go at sunrise you’ll run into many locals walking their dogs, coffee in hand!

5. Stroll the Discovery Trail to the Lookout
Starting just behind the Museum, this short trail takes you through bushland to a lookout with sweeping views across Agnes Water Beach.
It’s close to town, family-friendly and a great way to start or end the day.

Pack your camera as the lookout view captures both beaches in one shot.
6. Visit the Agnes Water Museum
Step back in time and learn about the First Nations history, maritime stories and the early settlers who shaped the region.
Entry is by gold coin donation, but the local volunteers who run it make the experience priceless.
🏛️ Located on Springs Road near the Discovery Trail car park
7. Relax at Workman’s Beach
Just south of Agnes past the police station on springs road you’ll find this beautiful hidden beach that feels like a secret.
There’s free parking, shady picnic spots and a calm swimming area that’s perfect for a peaceful afternoon or a bit of Yoga.
🌿 You’ll often share it with kangaroos at dusk – truly a local gem.
8. Wander the Local Markets
Held every 2nd and 4th Sunday at the SES Grounds, the 1770 Markets are full of handmade crafts, local produce and laid-back vibes. We love going to look for plans, buy fresh avos from the avocado man (look out for his truck that has been painted avocado-style) and the Malaysian cuisine!
Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s the best way to feel part of the community.
🛍️ Free entry | Bring sandflies repellant on a still day.
