  • What is a self-guided interactive tour?

    Local Adventure offers self-guided interactive tours in Agnes Water & 1770. Your party will explore the region on your own, lead by our app that provides you with a turn by turn map and clues you have to solve along the way.

    A self-guided and interactive tour is an exciting way to explore a destination or attraction at your own pace, using technology and engaging activities to enhance your experience. Instead of following a traditional tour guide, you’ll use tools like a smartphone app, a printed map, or even an audio device that provides all the information you need about the location.




    Here’s how it works:

    1. Flexibility: You decide when and where to start the tour, and you can take breaks or detours whenever you like. It’s completely on your schedule.
    2. Guidance Through Technology: The tour is often delivered through an app or website, which might include maps, photos, videos, and even audio commentary that explains the history, culture, or unique features of the place you’re exploring.
    3. Interactive Elements: Many self-guided tours include fun, hands-on features such as quizzes, scavenger hunts, augmented reality (AR), or gamified challenges that make learning and exploring even more engaging.
    4. Perfect for Solo or Small Group Travel: It’s ideal if you enjoy discovering places independently or in a small group, without the need for a tour guide or a fixed itinerary.


     

  • Where do we buy tickets?

    Tickets are available online on localadventures.com.au and are delivered instantly to your inbox. So you can purchase and start the tour within a couple of minutes.

  • Will there be others on tour?

    No, 100% just you. When you book your experience, it will just be your party exploring!

     

  • Are the tours suitable for all ages?

    Our tours are designed for adults and children alike. Some of the riddles and questions require an adult to help, this is why 1 adult needs to be included in each booking.

  • Will a tour guide meet us at the start

    No! We've built the guide (and more) into the tour. You'll pay it via your own smartphone at the time you want. 

  • Does the tour include a human guide?

    No! Whilst your experience will be fully-guided with our amazing itinerary (paper or app, your choice), you won't have to pay for a guide. The itinerary includes insights and plenty of pitt spots and games (if you wish to complete them).

  • What kind of questions and missions can we expect?

    Each tour has different questions and missions. They offer a selection of quizzes, historical content, artistic expressions, funny photos, augmented reality, audio guides, videos and even 3D drone shots. 

  • We already know the region, so shall we still consider your tour?

    Absolutely - we focus on showcasing the best hidden secrets - plus you'll learn so much about the region. 

  • Accessibility and mobility (wheelchair-friendly)

    Refer to each specific tour to see how they are suited to people with different levels of abilities.

  • I don’t have a mobile phone and/or reception

    Fear not, the app we use works without phone reception. However, we recommend you have Telstra or Optus phone reception when you are in Agnes Water as Vodafone doesn't work.

  • When can I start?

    As the tour is 'self-guided', you can start the tour anytime. We recommend you do the tour during the day-time.
    Depending on the tour you chose, you may need to visit local cafes and restaurants. Refer to the material provided to ensure of their opening hours

  • Are kids allowed?

    Absolutely! We've designed all our tours with the little ones in mind. We actually have extra activity packs for kids. Most of our itineraries are flat which means you can also use a pram.

  • So do we just walk around with a map?

    No! Absolutely not. You're going to experience something that you have never done before which is a combination of a soft-activity whilst learning from and interacting with locals. We've developed outstanding itineraries that include historical information, local insights, culture, hidden gems into a fun interactive experience. . Our tours combine architectural commentary, historical facts, local culture, and culinary insight into a unique 3-hour experience. Imagine walking through the city eating our local artisan’s most delicious foods while learning about the neighbourhoods from real locals.

  • Are there toilets en route?

    Yes, the itinerary includes the location of toilets, many of which are pram and wheelchair-friendly.

  • What shall we bring with us on tour?

    Hat, water, sunscreen, whatever shoes you're comfortable in, your mobile phone!

     

Bookings process

  • Have you already booked?

    If you have already booked or are already playing then refer to our documentation. This is also accessible within the app on the ‘info’ page. 

  • Which payment methods can I use?

    The quickest way to get your tickets (instant) is using credit card payments.

    Bank transfers are also acceped, however you need to book 4 days ahead to ensure funds have cleared.

    Cash payments are also accepted in Agnes Water. 

  • Can I get an invoice?

    Yes, your invoice is attached to your booking confirmation email as a PDF.

  • Do i need to book a date/time in advance?

    Some of our tours do not run every day (for example, a participating coffee shop might be shut on a certain day), therefore, we have opted for the selection of booking dates at the time of booking.

    Your booking also entitles you to our 'Adventure Pass' which provides discounts at participating businesses on the day of your adventure, therefore the date is important.

Technical points

  • Will I need a 4G or 5G connection?

    Yes, because we include interactive materials in our tours.

    We guarantee that our tours work on both Telstra and Optus connections (Vodafone doesn’t work in many places around Australia). If in doubt just contact us.

  • Do I need a full phone battery

    Yes, as if your phone goes flat you may not be able to recharge it - especially if you're exploring the rainforest. 

    Consider bringing a power-bank if your battery drains fast.

  • Can the tour be played on all types of smartphones?

    Yes, as long as your phone can be updated to the latest version of the software. 

    Make sure your phone is up to date and you’re running the latest version of your iOS or Android software. 

  • Which app to I need?

    We use an app called Loquiz. It is one of the best! YOu can download it from the Google Play store or the Apple App store .

  • Do each of the players need to bring their own phones?

    No, you will need one device per group - so if you have bought one game online you'll need one device for the party playing the game. 

    If you've bought 2 games, you'll need 2 devices.

Groups

  • Copy I want to play with say 12 of my friends, how many teams should I make?

    Purchase 1 ticket per team. We recommend teams of max 2-4 people as you’ll be on one phone per team. This way, everyone is involved in the game. With 12 people we recommend 3 teams so you need to add 3 times the same game to your cart.

    E.g Cart:

    1. Game 1: 3 adults
    2. Game 1: 3 adults (or 2 adults, 1 child, etc)
    3. Game 1: 3 aduls
  • I’ve bought 2 or more tickets, so how do we log in

    You would have received 2 sets of details - one per team. So one person per team neads to log in on their / a smartphone.

    Yolu can then start wihtin 5 minutes of each other to have the experience a little staggered.
